Fisher Dental is here to provide superior customer service, top-tier services, and affordable care. With the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), you can access the treatments you and your family need at a much lower rate. This federal government program offers eligible enrollees the chance to pay a lower price for various services as long as the family’s adjusted net income is below $90,000. To find out if you qualify, make sure to ask when calling to speak to a member of our team. We’re here to walk you through the process and get the answers you need.

What is Covered by the CDCP?

When reviewing the CDCP, you will find many covered services that will ensure you and your loved ones enjoy better oral health year-round. These include:

  • Preventive dental care, like general exams and dental cleanings, X-rays, fluoride, etc.
  • Restorative dental care, like dental fillings
  • Endodontic care or root canal treatment
  • Prosthodontic dental care, such as partial and full dentures
  • Tooth extractions and other forms of oral surgery

Since the CDCP is designed based on your family’s adjusted net income, you may or may not be responsible for a co-payment when visiting our office.

How Do I Know If I Qualify?

The Government of Canada provides a list of criteria you must meet on their website; however, to make it easier for you, we’ve included them below:

  • You must be a Canadian resident
  • You must not have an existing dental insurance plan or have access to coverage through your employer, a professional organization, pension benefits, or as part of a group plan
  • You must have filed your tax returns in Canada from last year, as your income will be assessed
  • You have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000

It is possible, however, that you may remain eligible even if you have coverage through a government social program.

When Can I Get My Benefits?

The moment you enroll in the CDCP and learn that you qualify for coverage, you will receive valuable information in the mail that discusses how you can use your plan as well as the official coverage start date. This is unlikely to be the same as someone else's since it varies based on the date your application is received.
